Why would we paint our Bobcat® machines pristine white when every worksite is full of dust, dirt, mud, grease and grime?
There’s a good reason (and story) behind it.
The first Bobcat skid-steer loaders were used primarily in two industries: dairy and fertilizer. The dairy industry needed its equipment to look clean and sanitary to help uphold its reputation for producing healthy, safe milk and other dairy products. Meanwhile, Bobcat equipment used by the fertilizer industry was always covered in white dust and appeared dirty all the time.
To solve both of these problems, we decided to paint our machines white to disguise the fertilizer dust and help the sparkling clean image of dairy farmers. The video below explains the history behind our iconic white color, which we’ve kept to this day — because we make the only machines that are “tough enough to wear white.”
