For over 60 years, we’ve been a dedicated community partner, investing our time and resources in the communities where our customers, dealers and employees live and work. As the global leader in compact equipment, we’ve continued to make a positive impact in our communities in part through partnerships with various organizations including Bombas. We recently donated 5,000 pairs of socks to local homeless shelters, nonprofit organizations and veterans’ programs.
Charitable Partnership Began in March
Bombas is an e-commerce sock and apparel company with a mission to help those in need. Since its 2013 inception, Bombas has donated more than 35 million items to those in need with the help of more than 3,000 homeless shelters and community organizations nationwide.
We began working with Bombas in March at CONEXPO-CON/AGG, where we provided 5,000 booth attendees with Bombas’s new high-performance boot socks. Through this partnership, we donated 5,000 pairs of socks to U.S. homeless shelters and veterans’ programs in communities where we have operations.
“At Doosan Bobcat, we are committed to supporting the communities where our customers, dealers and employees live and work,” said Mike Ballweber, president of Doosan Bobcat North America. “We are pleased to partner with Bombas and grateful we can make a positive impact to those needing assistance.”
Why socks? Socks are the most requested clothing item in U.S. homeless shelters. The Bombas socks we donated are specially designed to meet the needs of those experiencing homelessness. Features include an antimicrobial treatment to prevent fungus, reinforced seams for more durability, and darker colors for less visible wear.
Donated Socks Delivered to People in Need
Throughout July and August 2020, our teams donated 5,000 pairs of socks to local homeless shelters, nonprofit organizations and veterans’ programs in Bismarck, Fargo, Gwinner and Wahpeton, North Dakota; Litchfield, Minnesota; Johnson Creek, Wisconsin; and Suwanee, Georgia. We chose these communities because they are where we have operations. In addition, we donated socks to a shelter in Las Vegas, as a show of our support for the community where we launched this initiative.
The 5,000 Bombas socks were distributed to the following nonprofit organizations:
- Heavens Helpers Soup Cafe and Ministry on the Margins – Bismarck, North Dakota
- YWCA of Cass and Clay Counties – Fargo, North Dakota
- RSR Human Service Zone – Gwinner, North Dakota
- Richland Wilkin Community Foundation – Wahpeton, North Dakota
- Salvation Army and United Way of Jefferson County – Johnson Creek, Wisconsin
- Meeker Area Ministries – Litchfield, Minnesota
- United Way of Iredell County – Statesville, North Carolina
- Atlanta Mission – Suwanee, Georgia
- United States Veterans Initiative (U.S. Vets) – Las Vegas, Nevada
